Stop Go back Take a closer look.Scary isn t it Typically I tip toe or sugarcoat, but I just can t It s bad, so bad that I think it deserves an award The title didn t give me any extra reassurances either I would gush with apologies, but honestly, did you SEE the traumatizing cover I lingered, I stalled, and I did my best to avoid this book until the VERY last minute.Huh, it wasn t bad Nope, it was pretty decent Apparently you shouldn t judge a book by its cover after all In this case, I m actually glad I did I can promise you I would not have actively sought out this book if I wasn t looking for an atrocious cover.Grimton City is a magical city, a place stuffed with enchanted creatures mingling with humans Dylan s an elf, exiled from his people and he happens to run a shelter for rehabilitated criminals Supernatural gifts are frequently abused and Dylan strives to give second and sometimes even third chances When one of his employees slips back into his old ways, he is pulled into the drama as well After he is cuffed and tossed around by a sexy cop, he s not sure he wants to complain about his involvement.Joel is an officer of the law in a unique situation Patrolling the dark corners where demons actually do hide, he deals with the worst of the worst He s callused from the scum he faces on a daily basis and check this out..he is a human lie detector and uses the touch method to decipher the truth Cool, right I loved his interrogations It s fairly short, so without giving too much away, they fall in love while solving a case I was a tad lost at times whoops, didn t realize this was book two in a series but it really didn t hinder my pleasure I enjoyed both Joel and his elf, Dylan They fell into a relationship quickly, but I bought it I found the mythical creatures charming and their world intriguing The sex was pretty hot besides an overuse of sphincter and I felt engaged in the story until the very end Despite the title, it s not all sweetness, a bit of angst and action wraps up the ending. It s a good thing that covers never impact my rating, but if a second edition is released I would highly encourage a replacement 3.5 shudders from the cover stars Check cover artist interviews and other Hell Yes and Hell No covers all week.
