Kind of interesting, a sample of Russian writers who produced during the Soviet period I recognized many of the names but did not actually know that much about them and still don t know how they stand in context of Russian lit. Many of the stories do feature heroic characters, in the Soviet sense The anchor story in the book is We by Zamiatin An example of Soviet sci fi, I found it difficult to get through, and also a curious choice for the long story of the book Interesting at times, in western context it would be considered distopian sci fi In the Soviet sense, its different Worthwhile read to for someone interested in exposure to Soviet sci fiOther stories are interesting, including a couple of satire at the end Also some nice poetry, particularly by Pasternak.
