4.5I ve read a few of Ms Cain s medieval stories and really enjoyed them So I was excited when I saw she had written a Regency I was quickly sucked into the story, I really enjoy Ms Cain s writing style, I think she is a great storyteller Eliza was a likable heroine She s had a rough life, but has a positive outlook and is a fighter She s in desperate need of aide when she meets Lord Alistair Kennedy, who offers her a job as governess to his niece and nephew She eagerly agrees and they leave London for a remote castle in Scotland I loved the Scottish setting and could easily picture this beautiful castle on the edge of a cliff Created a nice ambiance for the story Lord Alistair was also a likable character He s a bit of a flirt, but honorable and while he is obviously drawn to Eliza he doesn t ever push things too far He s patient and kind with the kids and it was just easy to root for Eliza and Alistair to get together While I enjoyed the romance and seeing Eliza and Alistair fall in love, I did feel at times that there was a little too much focus on them being physically attracted to each other a bit of innuendo , but I also felt it was balanced out with them getting to know each other and you just get the overall feeling that they care about each other beyond the physical I really appreciated that the book stayed clean and stuck with some passionate kisses and nothing I liked that Alistair stayed in control and made a point that he had honorable intentions Which I think made their relationship sweeter.Overall, I really enjoyed this one Great setting, likable characters and of course a swoony romance.Looking for something similar, try The Dutiful Duke ContentRomance Clean Mild innuendo and a couple passionate kisses Language Mild D Violence MildReligious NoneSeries Standalone would love Nicholas story , Regency Rendezvous 2Source Kindle Unlimited
