After the departure from the usual fare in Night Shift with the last story, we re right back to business as usual with this one Since it was only six pages, I ll suggest you just read the thing instead of giving a synopsis It had a surprise ending I didn t see coming, but I m not the quickest study with literary foreshadowing, so I could ve missed than the average bear I did see one thing early on that came into play later, but didn t make any connection until it was too late to matter I m glad it worked out that way since I like surprises.

Nice prose with a twist amusing than horrifying I m not sure if the story achieves its aim, but it s so short that it is pleasant enough Well Maybe pleasant is not the right word Enjoyable, at any rate.

I was searching for a short story that wouldn t take than 15 minutes to read and this was the first story I found. For the length of the story, this one is actually pretty good, especially the ending, which completely took me by surprise.

  9. says:

Bit cheeky putting this as one book as it is only 6 pages long but I did technically read it as a separate book Enjoyed it though not really that shocking as it is Stephen King but a nice enough story about a mentally derange physcopath

  10. says:

I really did not expect this ending I thought the story was going down a completely different path Well done, Mr King.
