I was hooked from the Prologue and picked it up every spare minute I had Even with an infant and a toddler, I finished it in 2 days because I just couldn t put it down The characters are so real and well thought out, the story draws you in and has unexpected twists and developments throughout More than just a good love story, it s a great book and I can t wait to read the rest of the series.

Robin, Maxine, and Sarah are introduced in Sapphire Ice as three young women working hard to overcome a background of fear, deprivation, and neglect, raised by a drug addicted mother Robin s sense of responsibility pushes her to work two jobs, both in the food industry, to put her sisters through college Maxine has graduated and is a very successful advertising executive but Robin refuses her help paying for Sarah s nursing degree. These women, while coping with the fallout of their pasts, have landed on their feet with some real hang ups about any long term relationship with a man Robin does not entertain any relationship but comes face to face with a man just as determined to win her heart in Sapphire Ice Tony, a born again believer with a street gang background appears to be the one person who might change her mind about the opposite sex.Emerald Fire opens with Maxine and Barry on a collision course to a lasting relationship Barry, best friend to Tony Viscolli and his corporate lawyer, discovers his estranged wife is pregnant with another man s child His faith in a faithful God is tested when she dies in a skiing accident after Barry prayed for God to mend his marriage Maxine comes to the rescue but before their relationship blossoms, Maxine is involved in a life threatening accident Barry comes to her rescue while sister s Robin and Sarah look on.In Topaz Heat, Sarah takes center stage as OB GYN nurse in the large Boston Hospital Her nemesis, Derrick, uses every opportunity to gain her attention after returning to Boston to run one of Tony Viscolli s hotels Sarah has no memory of her early childhood She was the only sister who was adopted out of her circumstances as a child and raised by loving Christian parents Sarah cannot relate to Derrick s street wise background.

Sapphire Ice had me captivated from the very beginning of the prologue I expected to enjoy this book, but was surprised at just how much the story drew me in Hallee brings her characters to life in real world situations and settings that leave you imagining you ll run into them somewhere someday This is a very touching love story that shows the true romance between the characters without graphic sexuality that has become common in other romance novels The sneak peek at the end left me wanting .

This book grabbed my attention from the beginning and I loved reading it There are strong characters dealing with real life situations I love that it has strong Christian morals while not being judgmental or too preachy A great read.

Dichotomy1 A division or contrast between two things that are or are represented as being opposed or entirely different.2 This bookI have such issues with this book that I can barely write what I want to without being mean The definition above was mean enough.A highly irritating theme for me in Christian books is one where a dedicated Christian pursues a dedicated non Christian, even to the point of declaring love Hoping to be an influence for Christ is not a good enough reason to hotly pursue a person who either does not share your faith, or is dead set against it The possibility or high probability of the Christian falling into temptation is too great to ever go there God expects better of us And for a Christian author to use that as the main theme of the book is just plain irresponsible What a terrible example for new or weak Christians.Granted, there were some extremely Christ centered themes also woven in the book, but the dichotomy is when a non biblical theme is mixed in with a biblical one The passionate kisses and temptations in which the main character engages are just wrong in something that is supposed to be Christ centered. This is a seriously uncomfortable romance Nope I did not like this book at all.

Sapphire Ice is book 1 of the Jewel Trilogy by author Hallee Bridgeman The author offered me a chance to review the whole trilogy and host a giveaway as well After reading the blurbs I was excited to get a chance to review these Christian Fiction books on my blog.Sapphire Ice begins the trilogy with Robin s story She is the oldest of three sisters who were raised by a drug addict mother and her many, many men The girls were all neglected and abused until the day their mother was murdered Robin fought to get her sisters back together and after years of struggle was finally able to have them all living together in a small apartment Her life is hard she works two jobs to pay the bills and put her sisters through college and refuses any and all help When Robin meets Tony she takes and instant dislike to him, while at the same time fights strange feelings of attraction As their unlikely romance blossoms, she is reluctant to give her heart to God and Tony.I loved this book Robin s story touched my heart and I found myself empathizing with her childhood and the difficult choices she made to keep her sisters together Her struggles are so realistic and heartrending, and her relationship with Tony not only pushes her past her normal barriers but also shows her God s faithfulness and Love This is not a book for younger readers There is mention of abuse, rape, drug use, and assault It is definitely a wonderful, emotional story that will surely tug at your heartstrings I receive this book free from the author in hopes that I would post my review All my reviews are my personal and honest opinion see my blog for info

Sapphire IceThe Christian novel, Sapphire Ice, by Hallee Bridgeman is like a Cinderella story with a twist Robin Barlett, not a Christian, comes from a very dysfunctional family and is very independent, not wanting help Robin meets Tony Viscolli, an attractive Christian man who is filthy rich and seems to be poised, confident, and a very influential man in the world.Robin is very protective of her sisters Maxine and Sarah and works two jobs to make sure they are well cared for and able to attend college so they can be successful in life She distrusts men and does not know how to interact with them Will Robin and Tony develop a relationship Does Robin become a Christian Should a Christian marry a non Christian Read to find out and to understand the twist. The book is well written and the characters are well developed It held my attention from beginning to end The author deals with the providence of God, forgiveness, material possessions, love, rape, faith, and hope I liked the romance, the spiritual emphasis on coming to know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior, and the description of how God can change a life once a person dedicates his life to the Lord Hallee Bridgeman graciously allowed me to read this book through in exchange for an honest opinion.
